How it works
Information about New York City comes from many sources. Those sources can differ, disagree, become outdated or describe the same thing in different ways.
KnoEdg.NYC is designed to preserve those differences rather than merge them into a single, unquestioned account. It keeps track of where information came from, its context and timing, and how it relates to other information.
Behind this approach is KEE*, a framework for organizing knowledge while preserving where it came from, its context, and how it changes over time. It also provides ways to represent disagreement, correction, confidence and replacement without treating every source as equally authoritative.
KnoEdg.NYC applies this framework to information about New York City. More detailed documentation will be introduced as the project develops.
